Greetings from Skamokawa in

The harvest passed with swollen winter squash, pungent
hearts of purple garlic, rich and savory yellow finn
potatoes, and our yummy dried pears. But now the snow
flies, and dreams amuse in the darkness of our hibernation.
Plans for expanding and improving our celebrated disc
golf course to 27 holes [hey, click here for latest article]
are coming along. That will include improvements to the
forest hiking trails. But Jessica quickly says, "That's after
the chickens!!" Yes, we'll have fresh eggs soon(ish). It
really is the next thing on "the list."
For those of you eager to rent our rustic cottage
as a vacation rental, it will be available again this year
starting now. There is a two-night minimum, it sleeps six,
rent is $150/night with a $75 cleaning fee. What memories
to be had!
BOOKS, BOOKS: We'll be in Washington Off the Beaten
Path come February (that's like "in the middle of
nowhere"!), and we even have a recipe in our friend's new
cookbook Picture Yourself Cooking with Your Kids, by
Beth Sheresh.
Great reviews on Amazon.com. Believe us, it's a perfect
Christmas gift--or anytime.
Speaking of gifts, it's still not too late for us to email
you a gift certificate for a stay or a stay and dinner. Call us
at 1-800-806-7131 and we'll get it to you pronto.
Sunrise should be so lucky when six songs off his
latest CD, Sunrise Unplugged, will be available on amazon
mp3, itunes, napster, etc. They say around 6 weeks. We've
sold ALL of the first run and figured out that downloading is
how it's done "these days."
Let us dream while we may, for in this climate of hope
and change, there may soon be little time for somnolence.
Remember, the days will be
growing longer r r r r.
